About Thorston Kinross Photography

Innovative & Compassionate

Wedding, Lifestyle & Event photographer

Hey! I'm Thorston Kinross, but everyone calls me TK!

Where do I begin? As a wedding and lifestyle photographer rooted in the picture-perfect West Midlands, My journey into photography was sparked by a lifelong passion that ignited during my upbringing in Warwickshire. From a young age, my fascination with photography has been an ever-present force in my life. It is this enduring passion that propels me to seize every opportunity to document the essence of Life’s precious moments through my lens, infusing them with depth and artistry. It is this artistry that drives my commitment to preserving moments in their purest form.

What Kind of Photographer Am I?

After Studying Photography for 3 years at university and Achieving a bachelor’s Degree in the subject. I have been commissioned to do various assignments, working for clients such as Warwickshire College Group, Photoshoot Magazine, The Photography Show, TKMAXX & Oxyjet.

During my studies at university, I had my introduction to wedding photography. I was commissioned for my university’s principal's brother's wedding.

What kind of photographer am I? I am a photographer who prioritises the needs and wants of my clients. I communicate and work towards a finalised vision, bringing that vision to reality. I capture naturalism in its purest form, the raw emotions and feelings captured within an immortalised moment. Shooting on location is one of my favourites. It's like a challenge against the environment, taking all aspects into consideration, such as environmental factors, lighting & weather conditions.

What do I shoot?

If you need a photographer for weddings, birthdays, engagements, pets, families, headshots/portraits, still life, or events, I am the guy for you!

  • I had quite the odd introduction to photography. At the ripe age of 5, my brother brought me a new game for my Nintendo 64 called Pokémon Snap. It's a video game in which you photograph animals in their natural habitat. At the end of each level, your chosen photographs are evaluated and scored. Without realizing it, this is what sparked my obsession with photography!

Years later, my mum started buying me disposable cameras to use. This became my favorite pastime going out, taking photos, and getting them developed at our local superstore. When I turned 12, I got my first digital DSLR camera, which was a Fujifilm Finepix. I was obsessed with it I took it everywhere I went, hanging out with friends, attending events, going on adventures. No matter what, my trusty camera was always by my side. After a while, I felt like it was time to branch out and try new things. I pursued different hobbies like joining theater, building PCs, and studying martial arts, but I would always end up back at my square one... photography! I would take photos of all the extracurricular activities I pursued. After leaving school, I went to college to study photography and later obtained a bachelor's degree in the subject.

  • I'm a photographer who prides himself on the naturalism of my work, steering away from artificial or over-edited elements. I enjoy focusing on building rapport with my clients and community, creating a stress-free environment for everyone involved. I'm fortunate to have a job that allows me to seamlessly combine all my passions.

  • When I'm not immersed in photography, you can often find me hiking or exploring 16th-century ruins, delving into the world of books, spending quality time with family. Additionally, you might spot me at the gym, where I'm learning the basics of calisthenics (I still haven't fully wrapped my head around it! 😂). I also thoroughly enjoy dedicating time to work on a project or two.
